COVID Policy

In summary these are the current requirements of our visiting policies

  • All patients will be asked for COVID-19 vaccination status when booking your appointment and we kindly ask for proof shown upon arrival.
  • No unvaccinated people (including children) are to attend the clinic who are not patients
  • Non-vaccinated patients will be consulted through telehealth appointments
  • All approved non-vaccinated patients who require examinations or procedures will be allocated to a specific clinic day

The following information explains our current guidelines to help us ensure we are able to continue to provide you with a safe Medical practice and continued access to our Doctors, in abidance with SA Health’s regulations. Please read our current policy BEFORE visiting our clinic.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS AND OUTLINES FOR VISITING OUR CLINIC

In accordance with SA Health requirements to help determine the severity levels and risk assessment should our clinic encounter a Covid-19 positive case, please provide our reception staff with confirmation of your COVID-19 Vaccination when booking your appointment. 

As our Doctors also care for immunocompromised patients such as patients receiving chemo, then we kindly also ask the following of all patients /visitors to our clinic to help us ensure reduction of any extra exposure risks.  

WELLEND HEALTH’S STANDARD COVID-19 screening questions

Please advise us BEFORE you visit the clinic if you should answer YES to any of the following;

ARE YOU UNWELL?  DO YOU HAVE THE FLU, FEVER OR ANY COVID SYMPTOMS?

If you have any symptoms, please call our clinic, reschedule your appointment and get tested for COVID.  If you prefer, we can arrange an ONLINE appointment (telehealth consultation) OR even a PHONE consultation. Medicare is now supporting a wider range of alternative appointment types that will still allow you to be eligible to claim your Medicare rebate.

HAVE YOU VISITED A HIGH-RISK PLACE?  

Please check the current list of areas that are considered “high risk” or “hot spots” according to the SA Health website. If you have been to any of these places listed, please contact our clinic to change your appointment. HAVE YOU TRAVELLED OVERSEAS RECENTLY?

Please ensure that it has been more than 21 days since arriving and that you have abided by the state’s entry requirements that are currently required.  Please ensure that you have checked the current list of areas that are considered “high risk” or “hot spots” within your recent travels. Please ensure that you have upheld the requirements of SA Health and SAPOL when arriving in SA.  If you have been instructed to isolate yourself, please contact our clinic to reschedule your appointment.

HAVE YOU RECEIVED A POSITIVE COVID-19 PCR RESULT WITHIN THE LAST 21 DAYS?

If yes, then please do not visit our clinic right now.  Please contact our clinic 1300 65 20 28 and kindly reschedule your appointment or alternatively we can look at other options for your appointment such as  telehealth or phone consultation with the Dr. 

WELLEND HEALTH’S CLINIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Once you have answered the above COVID safety screening questions, please read the below to help you best prepare for when you are physically visiting our clinic;

ALL PATIENTS AND VISITORS PLEASE WEAR A MASK

SA Health have advised that masks are currently deemed as mandatory when visiting a Medical Clinic.  Please bring a mask with you to your appointment.  We will have spare disposable masks at the Reception entry should you need one.  For more information about this please visit the SA Health website, you can do so via this link   Face masks | SA Health

ALL PATIENTS AND VISITORS PLEASE ENSURE HANDS ARE SANITIZED

We have several hand sanitising stations upon entry and around our clinic for you to use.

ALL PATIENTS AND VISITORS PLEASE SCAN or SIGN in ON ARRIVAL

We have a QR Code displayed at both entrances of our clinic. If you can, we encourage you to please download the mySAGov app and “validate” your arrival by scanning the code. 

OR if you have any troubles doing this, you can simply complete a written Covid tracing approved form that can be found inside the main entrance.

ALL PATIENTS TO VISIT ALONE   (IF POSSIBLE)    

As you can appreciate, we are trying to reduce the amount of “foot traffic” in our clinic. 

It is best that you come unaccompanied to your appointment. 

– However, bringing one support person when needed is acceptable provided that your designated support person complies with our requirements of visiting and provides proof that they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

 – As an added safety precaution, at this date, we regretfully ask that you do not bring any unvaccinated children into the clinic
