COVID-19 Awareness Policy for visiting Wellend Health

Thank you for helping us to continue to provide safe professional health care services to our patients.  Our Doctors will see all patients regardless of their vaccination status for Covid-19.

Our Covid-19 Awareness Policy and visiting requirements have the potential to change in accordance with the most current Government requirements relating to Medical Clinics.  To check current requirements please visit the official  SA Health website – SA.GOV.AU: COVID-19

Please read the following requirements and expectations BEFORE visiting our clinic.

WEARING A MASK IS OPTIONAL
SA Health has advised that masks are now optional in our field.  Please do whatever makes you feel comfortable.  We will provide spare medical disposable masks at the reception desk in the entry hall should you need one.

ASKING FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION STATUS
As part of your care, we will ask you for your COVID-19 vaccination status.  If you feel uncomfortable sharing this information, you are welcome to discuss this directly with your Doctor instead of staff.

HELP REDUCE FOOT TRAFFIC WHEN POSSIBLE
As you can appreciate, we are trying to create a safe space for all patients. Including immunocompromised patients on chemo.  So when possible, please help us ensure there is enough space for everyone as we have relatively small rooms.  If you can, please attend your appointment alone.  However, we understand if you, the patient, are in need of a support person then it’s ok to bring them with you.

We have separate waiting areas which include our waiting room, in the entry hall and outside on the balcony available to help make you feel comfortable. Please ensure you check in with reception upon your arrival before you select your waiting area.

ALTERNATIVE TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE
Alternative appointments such as Telehealth appointments are available in accordance with Medicare guidelines.  Medicare has kindly extended their criteria to help support these alternative appointment types which is wonderful.  If you need this option please contact our clinic.  Even if it’s the morning of your appointment, please call us and seek an alternative option should you need this.

FEELING UNWELL, HAVE COVID-19 SYMPTOMS, OR HAVE ANY “FLU – LIKE” SYMPTOMS?
If you are not well, OR have COVID-19 symptoms OR have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, even if this should be the case the morning of your appointment, we kindly ask that you please contact our clinic by phone or email to make alternative appointment arrangements.  Please ensure you are free of these symptoms before visiting our clinic.

PLEASE WAIT 7 DAYS IF YOU RECEIVED A POSITIVE COVID-19 PCR or RAT RESULT
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, then we kindly ask that you do not visit our clinic right now.  Please ensure you wait at least 7 clear days after your positive result notification before visiting us.  You can contact our clinic 08 7093 2552 to reschedule your appointment or, if after the 7 days, if you are still symptomatic then we can look at other options for your appointment such as  telehealth or phone consultation with the Dr.

Our caring reception staff are here to help, please call or email us if you have any questions or wish to change your appointment to perhaps a telehealth or phone consultation option.  Thank you in advance for your patience, understanding and support in helping us all work together.
